A Cinematic Exploration of Punking & Posing
We open the festival with a cinematic journey into Punking—tracing its deep relationship to film, television, and pop culture. From Hollywood glamour and iconic screen gestures to character, drama, and transformation, Punking has always been in dialogue with the image. The screen becomes both reference and tool—shaping expression, identity, and performance within the form.
This program brings together key pop culture moments where Punking has appeared, alongside a curated selection of short films and screendance works, including original creations that reflect the form’s continued evolution from archive to contemporary voice.
The evening culminates in the premiere of Q5: The Quintessentials, an award-winning dance film directed by Sarada Sarita, following five performers through shifting worlds of color, energy, and perspective in search of essence.
Admission: Free for full festival pass holders
